Denmark now has another CS:GO team to cheer for.
New esports organization Maknitude announced its first CS:GO roster today, featuring a full-Danish lineup. The organization is owned by Niels “rizc” Topp, a Danish caster.
Maknitude grabbed three players who were playing for LPSP, an orgless mix team. Dennis “sycrone” Nielsen, Martin “PERCY” Wessel, and Danni “smF” Dyg will join forces with Allan “AnJ” Jensen and Jacob “dragonfly” Lund.
AnJ, formerly of Nordavind, is the most experienced player on this lineup. He played for NRG from July 2017 to January 2018. AnJ was considered one of Denmark’s greatest prospects in 2016.
Dragonfly was one of the best Danish AWPers available on the market. He played well for Fragsters, a Danish team that caused some upsets against North, BIG, and Gambit at StarSeries i-League season six in October 2018. Fragsters slowly came to an end after Ismail “refrezh” Ali left them last December to stand in for Cloud9 at BLAST Pro Series Lisbon. He later signed with OpTic Gaming.
Maknitude is still looking for sponsors and the players haven’t signed formal contracts due the lack of a proper salary, the organization said. “The players are committed to the organization while we search for sponsors to support their dream of going pro again,” Maknitude said. “But have no buyout since we don’t want to shackle players without paying them a decent salary. Hopefully, with the help of future sponsors we can pay that soon.”
The players haven’t play an official match under Maknitude’s banner yet. They played together at LOOT.BET HotShot Series season three while representing LPSP and lost in the quarterfinals to Copenhagen Flames.
